THE WICK THEATRE IS THE PERFECT MATCH FOR FIDDLER ON THE ROOF

MIRACLE OF MIRACLES! After being its most requested title ever, the Wick Theatre is proud to finally bring FIDDLER ON THE ROOF to the stage, just in time for their big 10th Year Season!

Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical, Fiddler on the Roof features a book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. Bringing all three to life perfectly is long-time Wick Theatre Director, Norb Joerder, who’s past smashes have included such classics as Bye Bye Birdie, Anything Goes, Gypsy, The Music Man, and Hello, Dolly! The Wick’s production showcases the original Tony-winning choreography by Jerome Robbins staged by newcomer Robert Abdoo, who has a long association with the project including choreographing the 50th Anniversary production. Musical Direction is by award-winning Bobby Peaco, whose long list of celebrity collaborations keeps him busy when he’s not at the Wick.

Fiddler on the Roof is set in the small Russian village of Anatevka, home to Tevye, a Jewish husband and father striving to uphold his family’s religious and cultural traditions, and his daughters. The timeless score includes such favorites as “Tradition,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” “To Life (L’Chaim!),” and “Sunrise, Sunset.”

Starring as the Everyman patriarch is Bruce Sabath, direct from the acclaimed NYC Yiddish production. A veteran of Broadway, Off-Broadway, Film, Television and major regional houses, Bruce Sabath was chosen as Tevye after the Wick saw over a thousand people for this production! Opposite as his sardonic wife, Golde, is Southeastern Theatre favorite Patti Gardner, most recently at the Wick in Milk and Honey. And his three hopefully romantic daughters include newcomers Torie D’Alessandro and Calia Katz as well Wick Theatre favorite and Carbonell award-winner, Mallory Newbrough, most recently seen at the Wick in their hit production of Million Dollar Quartet. Filling out the cast are the hilarious Rachel Matz Hunter as Yente, the charming Michael H. Small as Lazar Wolf (marking his 17th production of Fiddler on the Roof), golden-voiced Michael Scott Ross as Motel and newcomer Alex Martinez as Perchik. The cast of 34 is one of the largest ever on the Wick Theatre stage!

With its themes of family and home, Fiddler on the Roof is particularly resonant during the current times. And what a perfect time to reconnect to one of the Broadway’s greatest musicals that takes you on a journey unlike any other. Running for 4 weeks only – January 11th to February 11th.
